1977 PORSCHE 911 2D Convertible SC
This is a 911SC Targa, converted to a 930S Cabriolet with over $100,000 + 3000 Labour hours spent on the rotisserie restoration in 1995! Built by an engineer and club captain of the Porsche Club NSW & is well known around Sydney for its presence at Porsche events and the Sydney International Motor Show.

In today’s Porsche scene, owning one is simply not enough. There are Porsche tuners worldwide that re-engineer what was already a great car to make them better. Then there are companies like Singer and Gunther Works that take your old Porsche and turn it into a masterpiece for a cost of 1 million US Dollars. To own a Porsche is a dream to many, but to own a Porsche that stands out at your local cars and coffee on a Sunday morning is truly something special. This can only be achieved with imagination, money and a lot of patience.

What we have here is a car that Porsche would have released in 1995. The last of the G-series, the smoothness of a 964, the exclusivity of a 935 Slantnose and a topless roof to take it all in. A car that had 3000 hours of labour spent on it and $100k in parts which in today’s money that’s about $400,000 to build plus the car. This car is something you have to see to believe.

Starting life as an American Import is a 1977 911SC Targa the car was carefully stripped down to a shell. The body was mounted on a rotisserie and taken back to bare metal. The slant nose was fitted using all steel guards, the flutes filled in for that smooth look. The rear fins allow for extra cooling as well as complement its styling.

Converting a Targa to Cabriolet is a common and simple conversion as there are no body modifications needed.
The bodywork and paintwork was completed by Ron Goodman and those in the Porsche scene will all agree that you cannot beat his attention to detail and quality of workmanship. A special metallic pearl blue similar to Lapis Blue has been carefully applied to the body, undercarriage and suspension.

The interior was completed by Autocraft in Chatswood in soft Ferrari leather and carpet. The Toolkit pouch remade to suit the interior and the tool kit is gold plated. That's right, gold plated. It also has an electric roof, electric windows and is air conditioned. Security is done by way of immobiliser.

When it comes to the mechanical drivetrain, the car has a fully rebuilt 3.0 litre engine, gearbox and diff courtesy of Bob Whyms Automotive. Whilst it is still in stock form, it did have some mild headwork and that can be noticed by the sound and also how it performs. The 5 speed gearbox still feels new and tight. The undercarriage is a piece of art in itself. One look under the hoist and you will see the attention to detail that went into this build. Its as good as the bodywork

The Brakes are a monster 6 Pot Caliper courtesy of a 993 RSCS with 930 rotors and the rears are 930 Turbo so you never have to worry about pulling up. The suspension is another area that also received upgrades. It runs, reinforced front struts with Koni Adjustable shock absorbers, front and rear sway bars.

To finish off the look are a set of period style 18” Rotiform FUC from the USA. They deliver that classic dish and maintain the Fuchs inspired look. It also comes with a spare set of wheels and tyres.
The entire build including the conversion has been done using all original parts and comes with the original Engineers Report.

This car is for someone that appreciates attention to detail.
